Lifeline customers are required to verify their eligibility every year in order to continue to receive the Lifeline benefit. You will receive your initial Lifeline recertification notice by phone (call or text message) and also in the mail from USAC, the Lifeline Administrator. The letter from USAC will provide you with your unique Phone Number or Email and the different methods you can use to recertify. You will also receive reminders from NewPhone.
If you do not recertify your Lifeline eligibility, you will be de-enrolled from the Lifeline program and your benefit will be discontinued.
Recertify your Lifeline eligibility to continue to receive your Lifeline discount on your monthly talk, text, and data! If you do not recertify, NewPhone will allow you to use your device as a pay-as-you-go option.
Lifeline customers also have the option of recertifying by mail. Please note that the process for recertifying by mail is much slower than recertifying by phone and will not provide you or NewPhone with immediate notification of your continued eligibility. As a result, you may continue to receive recertification reminders until your recertification window ends.
If you would like to proceed by mail, please send your completed Recertification Form to:
Lifeline Support Center
9918 Brooklet Dr
Houston, TX 77099
You will receive a letter from USAC, the Lifeline Administrator, with your unique Phone Number or Email and the methods you can use to recertify. You will also receive text message reminders from NewPhone.
Phone recertification is the fastest and easiest way to recertify. Simply call 1-(855)-204-3667 and follow the prompts. Or you can recertify online by Click here. All you'll need is your Phone Number or Email and the last 4 digits of your social security number.
Once you have completed the process, the Lifeline Administrator will notify NewPhone if you are eligible for Lifeline service. We will notify you of their decision by text message.
